Excellent staff, beautiful location. good food and atmosphere.
The one and only complaint which unfortunately would prevent us from returning is the church bell tower which chimes every 15 minutes all through the night, this was unbearable and we got no sleep. Talked to the hotel staff in the morning who advised us they had complained but nothing could be done. Very unfortunate as this would be our only complaint about an otherwise great hotel. One other point is that we booked a family room as initially our teenage son was going to accompany us, in the end he couldnt make it. However we were still allocated a "family room" which in reality is a fairly small double, not sure how this can be?? However, the room was perfectly good for the two of us.
The veiw from the room & the food
The lack of hand rails on short flights of steps & the lack of hand grip for getting in & out of the bath.We are both in our 70s & my wife found the above difficult.
verty convenient as we attended a wedding reception at the adjacent yatch club.
Good parking facilities. Attentive, helpful staff. Clean, well presented room. Very good evening meal. Efficiently presented breakfast in pleasant conservatory. We will definitely stay again if we are visiting the area or are enroute for the highlands.
I could not fault Rosslea Hall Hotel as rooms were very comfortable and found staff were helpful and courteous, Scenary is breathtaking and the grounds within Rosslea Hall is an ideal setting for wedding photos. Evening meal was delicious with a good choice of meals as was breakfast which offered everything from full British to Continental. All in all a very satisfactory stay.
Excellent staff and comfort of the accomodations.
Wedding parties did get a little rowdy and the sounds were clearly heard in my room. It did affect my ability to get a good nights sleep on at least two evenings.
If you want piece, quiet, fantastic views and good food stay here. Beautifully quiet location, very friendly attentive staff and one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The view from our room over the gardens out to the loch was fantastic, always changing depending on the time of day and the weather. Hotel great, Rhu ok, and try the local bar, small and friendly.
Friendly staff a welcome with a smile including all staff location views out standing local transport really good trying to convince our daughter to hold her wedding there it was that good
Our stay at this hotel was satisfactory in every way -the staff were especially helpful and it was an added bonus that they were from the local area (.This does not seem to be the case ,sadly ,,in Scotland very often nowadays and so local "flavour ") is lost...The food was excellent.. .I have already recommended the Rosslea Hall Hotel to friends who plan a visit to the vicinity..in the near future..
The shower broke in the original room and we were upgraded to the bridal suite. It was great it made our weekend, staff were friendly and hotel was comfortable.
Ground-floor room with good spacious facilities for wheelchair users. Excellent parking for the mobility impaired. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Lovely views and lochside location. Breakfast freshly cooked to order. Spotlessly clean.
Beds as you could see and feel springs on mattress, did not have cover over mattress just a sheet with a hole in it.pillows were waffer thin,no spare bedding in room. Breakfast very very small kippers on menu so asked for that, got large plate with 1 small kipper with poached egg raw, asked for well done, so could not eat the egg,and the scottish full breakfast was tiny child portion was not worth the money
Clean and friendly
Our party were attending a function elsewhere and we were assured the bar would remain open.Upon our return after midnight we found all bars were shut as staff were trying to evict wedding guests who were not staying at hotel. Our party retired to their rooms which prevented us mingling as planned earlier. This put a bit of a damper on a long planned get together. Also I had booked a twin room due to a disability but we were put in a room with a double bed although it was large enough to suffice on this occasion.
Superb location with excellent views and within a comfortable walking distance to Helensburgh. Friendly and helpful staff, in particular the reception staff, excellent and plentiful breakfast. The rooms were very clean, good bar facilities and sufficient parking. Altogether value for money. Will certainly consider a return visit.
After checking in we went down stairs for a meal, very dissapointing only macaroni cheese as a vegitarian dish, also had to show bar maid which bottle was brandy as she didnt know, there was also an issue with the draft coke which I dont like it was flat and no fizz. The bed was hard and lumpy and hotel informed us that there was no extra matresses available, the sink didnt have a handle to empty dirty water out, we were told it was missing and the remote control for tv wouldnt work so was not satisfactory
